This summer has completely slipped by me. Family reunions, graduation parties, baby showers (my cousin is having twins, I've named one Phoebe, I plan on allowing them to name the other daughter :-) )...my sister turned the Big FOUR OHHHH!!!...work, school, a wedding, a daughter-in-law!! No wonder it's been over a month since I've blogged.
I've been taking pictures and writing recipes, but pulling all that together takes about 3 hours per post, and I feel like I haven't had 3 minutes. But today I put my proverbial foot down and said - no more, back to something I love - talking to you all!
So, I decided to make us some lemonade - with a twist! Join me for a nice
tart glass of summer goodness.
This mixture is where the magic begins. You gotta get it all loose and juicy.
Add some simple syrup....
THEN...and this is the most important part...find a back porch with no noise and enjoy!
This recipe would pair well with a chickpea sandwich. Now that's what I'm talking about!
Easy Mango Nectarine Lemonade
1 Cup Fresh Squeezed Lemons
1 Nectarine, peeled
1 Mango, peeled
2/3 Cup Raw Organic Sugar
Place the sugar and two cups of water in a small pot and bring to a boil; this will make your simple syrup. While waiting for the simple syrup place the peeled nectarine and mango in a blender or food processor, mix well.
Place the mango/nectarine puree, lemon juice and simple syrup in a pitcher. Add ice and nine cups of water. You can adjust the water. I like mine thick, sweet & tart.
